Sinuses and the Rain
Rainy weather can have a profound effect on sinus pain and pressure and make common symptoms even worse than usual.
There are a wide range of sinus headache causes that affect adults, but they are often the result of a sinus infection known as sinusitis. This type of infection can be triggered by an allergic reaction, like hay fever. Fungal infections and tumors can cause sinus infections as well as sinus headaches. Changes in barometric pressure and pollen after rain can also affect sinus pain in some people as well.
The barometric pressure in the air changes frequently and without most people noticing it a majority of the time. However, individuals who regularly suffer from sinus headaches and migraines can feel this pressure disproportionately. This is because barometric pressure puts extra force on the body, which is felt strongly in sensitive bodies. This pressure is felt most commonly while physically located in small confined spaces and in the sinus and ear regions of the body. Barometric pressure headache pain can last for a few hours or even a few days.

ReplyThank you. What can be done about this? I had a stroke and now my sinuses I constantly stopping up. What is the best remedy?
ReplyNavage is a natural way to address sinus issues. It uses sterile saline and distilled water to clear the sinuses. Hold the ear after use and gently blowing the nose. Clean the unit with distilled water only and a small amount of white vinegar. Rinse Navage with distilled water. Hope this helps.
ReplyWould swimming in the ocean also assist in clearing nasal passages? 🙂

ReplyLook up Silent LPR/Gerd symptoms, if you have a cough, blocked sinuses, feel like you are aspirating fine water drops, have a lump in throat (globus) and feel like your throat is inflamed, it might be Silent LPR. Check facebook for support groups.
ReplyMy son has sinus and it seems to get worse whenever it rains. I do believe that it would be in his best interest to seek treatment or therapy as it can be a hindrance to him and it can impact his mood. I will definitely look into clinics that are experienced in providing sinus treatment.
