Patient Safety Awareness Week

Patient Safety Awareness Week was established to recognize that we are all dedicated to creating a world where patients and those who care for them are free from harm.  This year, Patient Safety Awareness Week is March 13-19.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an annual recognition event intended to increase awareness and to help us all learn more about health care safety. The week is also intended to inspire improvement in the safety among health professionals and patients.

In addition to serving as a platform to grow awareness about patient safety it also recognizes the work that is already being done.

Preventing harm in health care settings is a public health concern. Everyone interacts with the health care system at some point in life and we all play a role in advancing safe health care.
