LOUD Crowd

We are pleased to announce that we have added The LOUD Crowd® to preserve the voices of individuals with Parkinson’s and related neurological disorders such as Essential Tremor, Lewy Body Dementia, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Multiple System Atrophy.
Upon completion of SPEAK OUT!®, each patient enters the maintenance phase of this two-part program. This maintenance program consists of weekly group sessions where SPEAK OUT!® exercises are performed and participants practice speaking with intent, which converts speech from an automatic function to an intentional act.
Since Parkinson’s is a progressive, degenerative condition, maintaining the strength of one’s voice can be a challenge. People with Parkinson’s often struggle with motivation as a result of the lack of dopamine in the brain. The LOUD Crowd® provides ongoing vocal practice, accountability, support, and encouragement. By participating in The LOUD Crowd®, patients have been shown to maintain their SPEAK OUT!® results for more than five years and counting.

All participants must have:
-Completed SPEAK OUT!® speech therapy
-The ability to follow directions from The LOUD Crowd® Instructor
-The ability to perform voice exercise safely and independently in a group environment
Individuals interested in attending The LOUD Crowd® must fill out a history questionnaire prior to participation in the program. The purpose of the questionnaire is to make sure you meet the conditions of participation and to identify medical conditions that may require you to take precautions to exercise independently and safely.

Group exercise is currently scheduled:
Tuesday at 4:10pm at 1431 Orange Camp Road, Suite #112, DeLand, FL 32724
Coming soon-Monday at 12pm at 1301 SOUTH International Parkway, Suite #2011, Lake Mary, FL 32746

The LOUD Crowd® is NOT considered a speech evaluation, speech therapy or direct patient care, and is not covered by my health insurance, including Medicare even though The LOUD Crowd® Instructor may be a therapist. Fitness services are not skilled therapy, just exercise, and are not covered by health insurance.
The program cost is as follows:
-Set of 8 exercise classes for $75, payable before or at the first class.
-A single class at $10 per each exercise class session, payable before or at the first class.
We hope you will be pleased with our addition of this significant service.
Please contact Sara at (386) 774-9880, extension #213 to enroll in group exercise or if you have any additional questions.
